Fold Over Elastic/FOE

Our Wraps, Pocket Wraps and kits are all made using a special eastic trim, often called Fold Over Elastic (or FOE). FOE is a soft, hard-wearing gently elasticated trim which is used to provide a neat edge and elastication where needed. Ready-made Pocket Bots and kits both use FOE which is 1" wide - this is easier to sew with and softer on your baby's skin than the thinner variety often used in commercial wraps.

FOE is easy to work with - it is sewn to the nappy/wrap edge using a multi-stitch zigzag available on most sewing machines. Our kits supply details of how to sew with FOE.

Our FOE is available in a range of colours and prints (some shown below). You can choose from the range when buying a custom or ready-made Pocket Bots wrap or pocket wrap or one of our wrap kits. Alternatively, you can buy it by the metre (see below) and use it for your own nappy/wrap designs or as edging on changing mats etc. Most nappy and wrap patterns require around 1-2m of elastic trim per item.

The printed foe is particularly versatile as it is completely reversible! The reverse colour has the same print but with the background and print colour the other way round (see pictures below for some examples)
